I have worked and coordinated research projects for large companies in Brazil and the United Kingdom, such as Petrobras, Stone, Energisa, and Greensill, together with professors and researchers from other countries. Those projects focus on solving business problems in Energy, Risk assessment, Fraud detection, Churn detection, and Oil production, using knowledge from many research fields, like optimization, machine learning, optimization under uncertainty, stochastic optimization, computer vision, real-time analytics, and process mining, among others.

My educational background has an emphasis on mathematical modeling, machine learning, multistage optimization, optimization under uncertainty, portfolio selection, and financial systems. I have a Ph.D. in computer science (2015) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro PUC-Rio in the Optimization field. My M.Sc. (2010) and Bachelor’s degrees (2008) are from the same institution.

As a team leader and manager, I have a successful track record in delivering fast, innovative solutions for research projects, exceeding customer expectations—more than 5 years of successful R&D projects that saved thousands of dollars for the companies.

I have extensive knowledge and experience with different programming languages and frameworks, Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Sklearn, PyTorch,…), Julia (JuMP, SDDP, Optim, LightGraphs,…), C++ (Armadillo, Jupyter, MLPACK, Concert), Java (Weka, LIBSVM) and Solvers (CPLEX, Gurobi, Xpress). Experience with databases (MySQL, SQLServer, Oracle), BI (Power BI), visualization tools (Plots, Matplotlib, Plotly), and cloud services in Azure and AWS.
